On 7 March, low-cost airline Pobeda – part of the Aeroflot Group – landed for the first time at Ostend-Bruges Airport.

Flights on the new route operate three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Pobeda airline fleet consists only of modern Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 passengers.

Marcel Buelens, CEO of the Ostend-Bruges and Antwerp Airports, welcomes the new route: “The new scheduled service is great news for our airport, but certainly for the region too. The travel industry in Flanders will undoubtedly benefit from these flights that make both short and longer stays possible. Aside from Belgian travelers, we also consider a potential increase of foreign passengers at our airport thanks to its strategic location close to the North of France and the South West of the Netherlands.”
